A Hard Go
It’s been a hard go, this quitting smoking thing. I have to admit that I’ve just about given up. Today I read a few reviews on a book written by Allen Carr, The Easy Way to Quit Smoking. Before giving up on this quest to better myself, I’ve ordered the book and expect to receive it by this time next week. I’m hoping that this will give me a new boost on my desires to quit.
After I’ve finished reading it, I intend to leave it in the bathroom as ‘reading material’ and hope that Rob will pick it up a time or two and find the motivation himself to give up this horrible, powerful and extremely addicting habit as well.

**hugs you tight** This is NO easy task. I smoked for eleven years before I was able to quit (I quit eleven years ago). To this day, I still crave. It’s terrible. Once I realized and accepted that the craving would always be there (either so light I hardly notice, or so heavy I want to buy some smokes), I was able to quit for good.

Thanks Jenn!!! I know that this is one of the hardest addictions to break. When I was in college I learned that cigarettes can be a harder addiction that heroine. Ouch. And this stuff is legal?

I’ve read it and it does have a magical kind of trigger within his words that do work. I also suggest the Quitnet site for morale boosting and beating craves. I wish you the best of luck or as Alan Carr would suggest – Congratulations, you will soon be free.
(Oh and I was for a while but then lost my quit thanks to the postman dropping one too many bits of bad news on my doorstep one day. It’s true what Alan Carr says and I regret slipping so badly.)

Mysti,
I quit smoking on Jan. 1, also. It is one of the hardest things I’ve done. I’m still getting wicked cravings, but they do seem to be further and further apart.
Stay strong! Each time you have a craving, turn it into anger at the tobacco industry. They put chemicals into cigarettes to make them more addicting. Just the thought of those %&*$# controlling me that way makes me want to never smoke again. Get mad! Then get happy at all of your willpower.
GREAT JOB!
